Kinetic FRG Post-Doc Search, 2008-2009


The Center for Scientific Computation And Mathematical Modeling (CSCAMM) at the University of Maryland invites applications for a post-doctoral Research Associate position in the NSF Focus Research Group (FRG) on “Kinetic Description of Multiscale Phenomena: Modeling, Theory and Computation”. This collaborative FRG involves researchers from the universities of Maryland, Brown, Iowa State, Wisconsin-Madison, Arizona State, Texas-Austin and Toulouse, France.

Successful applicants are expected to have a strong component of their research devoted to development of novel analytical and numerical methods based on kinetic descriptions of complex phenomena.

The Appointment is for two years with starting date in Fall 2009. The incumbent will be encouraged to collaborate with scholars involved in this FRG, and is expected to be actively involved with the educational and research activities at CSCAMM with a possible reduced teaching load. The nine-month salary is $48,000 with an additional $2,000/yr for support of the incumbent’s research.
