MHD in Astrophysics

Dr. John Hawley

University of Virginia

Abstract:   This talk will present a brief review of astrophysical systems in which magnetohydrodynamical processes play an essential role. In particular, I will focus on accretion disks, astrophysical jets, and star formation. Emphasis will be placed on the dynamical role that magnetic fields play in these systems.
