High Order Methods for the Neutron Star Inspiral Problem

Mark Miller

NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory

Abstract:   High order numerical methods are necessary for obtaining simulations of sufficient accuracy for gravitational wave template calculations. I will describe and present results from my implementation of a high order multigrid solver (initial data), a high order spacetime solver, and high order relativistic shock capturing solver, applied to the neutron star inspiral problem.
